The BikeButterfly – the most awkward accessory for your bike

I know, it’s not really related to mountain biking. I know as well, that you can probably count the number of people on the team actually ordering one with Erik’s right hand. Still it’s so unusual that I had to post it anyway.

Let me introduce you to the Bike Butterfly. It’s selling points…
• More visible – The BB’s 3.5 sqm wingspan makes you easy to see.
• Slow down fast – The ultra light nylon/kevlar fabric acts as a wind-break.
• Hard to forget – Once experienced, pedestrians will always look out.

But see for yourself…

Oh, and in case you’re one of the few that would like to order one, here is the link to their website.

2012 Mellow Johnny’s Classic, Dripping Springs, TX

This year’s Mellow Johnny’s was held at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch, a new course for most of us. The event was again an official UCI race and because of that the pre-ride opportunities where as messed up as in prior years.

Only four team members raced against strong competition and all of them did well. Mike Schwarzkopf continued his quest to win the series. Even though he missed a race, he holds a very strong third place in the overall rankings.
