Orbea Alma 29er S10 Carbon Review

Here is another review of the Orbea Alma 29er. BikeRumor took two diehard 26″ mountain bike racers and switched their bikes for Orbea Alma 29ers. Each spent several months riding and racing everything from short track to 24 hour team relays on either the S10 carbon or H30 alloy model, then they swapped rides. After a solid season of racing the verdicts are in.

They asked the five companies listed below what it would cost to repair the busted seat tube you see in the picture on the left. Prices range from $140 to $500.

Single-legged rigid fork adjusts for 26″ or 29er

Called F69, it’s a steel, single-legged fork with an internal carbon fiber reinforcement tube. That’s just the beginning. The carbon tube has an alloy sleeve mounted to the bottom that the brake posts bolt to, and the whole thing slides between two keyed slots to adjust the axle and brake mounts for either 26″ or 29er wheels. 2012 Cannondale website on-line

Check out the new Cannondale website and the bikes for 2012. Finally they have a full suspension 29er in the line-up. The cheapest Scalpel 29er goes for an MSRP of $2,550, the “Clint” edition goes for $7,600.

Cannondale offers now helmets too. They do not lists weights, but they look pretty cool and the most expensive is only $110.
